In detail
What makes this blend special
Optimum is the all-rounder in the Dersut range: a blend that shines as an espresso just as much as in a cappuccino. The roasters in Conegliano combine popular Arabica varieties, which bring sweetness and aroma, with Robusta, which gives body and a stable crema.
In the cup, Optimum is round and harmonious. Delicate notes of cocoa and pastry define the flavour, acidity stays restrained and the finish is pleasantly long. The dense, hazelnut-coloured crema holds for a long time and combines with milk foam into a creamy cappuccino.
The 1 kg pack of whole beans is ideal for everyday enjoyment at home, in the office or in hospitality. Whole beans keep their aroma longer than ground coffee: only grind as much as you need.

Preparation
How to make the perfect espresso
Portafilter
7–8 g of coffee for an espresso, 14–16 g for a doppio. Grind finely, tamp firmly and extract 25–30 ml in 25–30 seconds.
Bean-to-cup machine
Pour the beans straight into the hopper, set a medium-fine to fine grind and limit the water to 25–40 ml per espresso.
Cappuccino & latte
A strong espresso as the base, topped with finely frothed milk at around 60 °C. This way the crema blends beautifully with the milk foam.
Moka
Grind medium-fine and fill the funnel loosely without pressing down. Place over medium heat and remove from the hob as soon as the coffee starts to bubble.

Dal 1947
Roasted in Conegliano
Dersut has been roasting in Conegliano near Treviso since 1947. The green coffees are carefully selected, roasted in two stages and checked after every step. That is why every pack tastes just as good.
Keeping it fresh
Store the beans in a cool, dry place away from light and close the pack tightly after opening. Grind just before brewing to best preserve aroma and crema. Do not store in the fridge.
